An interesting single action semi-automatic design created in 1907, the White-Merril pistol was a contender for official sidearm of the US Military.  A blow back design, it was fed from a ten round magazine.  The user cocked the pistol using the forefingers.  Ultimately the design was passed up for John Browning’s Colt 1911.
